A Google Earth satellite view of the centre of Cambridge

Claudia suggested a screen shot of a picture from Google Earth for those whose PCs are unable to use this incredible program. Here is Google Earth's satellite picture of the centre of Cambridge. You may just be able to identify the river Cam flowing at the back of some of the colleges.

Dear Dennis,

This is really nice you posted this Google earth map. Have you seen the webcams on the BBC site for each place?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/cambridgeshire

At the bottom, you'll see "In Pictures"

It's a shame I couldn't find the town where I lived, Amersham, Bucks.

Regards,
Nahir

Nahir,

Yes. As a matter of fact, I have spotted those webcams. When I looked at town where I went to school, though - Peterborough - it wasn't a very thrilling shot.

I know the name Amersham, but I don't think I have ever been there.

I was going to ask where you are now, and remembered I should just look at our map!

Neat, Dennis--
Such fun to get to know you through these pictures and your text. The photos are a very definite plus!
Congrats on your marriage (a recent venture? a second time around?) and on being (semi)-retired. I seem to be busier since retiring than when I was "working," or at least my husband claims it is so.
Cheers--
